  • 1 tablespooncornstarch
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 2 cupssliced mushrooms
  • 3cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  • 1 tablespoonoyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoonsesame oil
  • 1/4 cupwater or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Begin by prepping the chicken. In a medium-sized bowl, toss the thinly sliced chicken breasts with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. This coating will improve the flavor and give the chicken a crispy texture.
  2. Next, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the chicken and sautΓ© for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet and stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes. Then, add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and water to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Return the seared chicken to the skillet and toss everything together. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until heated through.
