Welcome to a world of warm, cheesy, and irresistibly delicious bread!
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cupsall-purpose flour
- 1 cupwarm water
- 1 tablespoonsugar
- 1 teaspoonsalt
- 1packet active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoonsolive oil
- 2 cupsshredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cupricotta cheese
- 1 cupfresh spinach, chopped
- 1 tablespoonfresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoongarlic powder
- 1 teaspoononion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes.
- Once your yeast is bubbly, add olive oil, salt, and flour to the bowl. Mix these ingredients together until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a separate bowl, mix together the mozzarella, ricotta, chopped spinach, basil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once your dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a circle.
- Take a scoop of the cheesy spinach mixture and place it in the center of each circle. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal them well.
- Arrange your stuffed breads on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- For the best experience, serve these delightful breads warm straight out of the oven.
Notes
If you want a crispier crust, try brushing the tops with a little olive oil before baking.
